Elderly Man Can’t Buy Groceries After Losing $100 Bill at Walmart. Then the Phone Rings

Many mothers use social media to vent about the struggles of parenthood. Mother Jodie Johnson is not immune to the stress of life including those stressors related to parenting.

She has chosen to post online about the positive moments that have made her proud to be a mom. Her 8-year-old son, Jaron Johnson, has been portrayed on his mother’s Facebook as quite helpful and thoughtful.

On Feb. 28, Johnson posted on Facebook that when she asked Jaron to do his homework, he went above and beyond by not only completing his homework, but also vacuuming, cleaning his shoes, rearranging the living room, and organizing a closet.

“To be eight years old, this boy is so responsible! He continues to amaze me,” Johnson wrote.

The amazement she has for her son only grew when he was presented with a situation at a Walmart store that would tempt many people into making a selfish decision. While the mother and son walked through the store, Jaron found a hundred dollar bill.

Many people would pocket the cash and consider it their lucky day. Jaron made a different choice

He told his mom about his discovery. Johnson took the bill with the intention of finding the person who had seemingly dropped it by accident.

James Grice, 86, was the owner of the wallet from which the bill accidentally fell. The loss was not insignificant for Grice.

It was his grocery money, and he is on a fixed income. Grice did not purchase any groceries that day and thought his $100 would never be returned to him.

He told KALB, “When I walked outside of the store I said Lord let somebody that really needs that money, find it. When I turn things over to the Lord, I don’t fool with it anymore.”

When Jaron woke up the morning after finding the bill, he asked his mom to call Walmart to see if there was a report of a missing hundred dollar bill. Grice’s phone rang, of course, with the good news that an 8-year-old boy and his mom wanted to meet to return his grocery money.

Grice rewarded Jaron with $20. Johnson experienced a rewarding parenting moment as she realized her son made the right decision even when nobody else was watching.

Mom gives birth to 3 black babies – then dad looks closer & bursts into tears [VIDEO].

Even though the year is 2017, racism and prejudice continue to pollute our world.

Many people retain narrow-minded and over-simplistic views on what a family should “look like”..

Aaron and Rachel Halbert have experienced such prejudices up close – despite that they deserve loads of love and respect for several courageous decisions they took.

The Halbertsl first adopted two children – and then chose to take things a step further – after learning about embryo adoption.

The parents were determined to offer a home to more children who would otherwise not have a family – and decided not to forget those frozen embryos who seem to be forgotten.

And they certainly refused to let something as superficial as skin color get in the way. They visited an embryo donation bank and found a set of twins they decided to make their babies.

But if this weren’t amazing enough, their story soon took another unexpected turn.

Aaron and Rachel Halbert had long dreamed of becoming parents, but Rachel had a very hard time getting pregnant.

They instead opted to adopt two children, one boy and one girl.

But that decision would face some strong reactions – just because the kids were dark-skinned.

“We knew, especially in the South, that a white couple with non-white children would draw a myriad of different reactions. There will always be the older white woman in Walmart who stared at us with sheer disgust, or the African-American mother who looked at us and just shook her head,” Aaron told the Washington Post.

The new babies would therefore “match” their already existing siblings.

“They agreed with our thoughts about our kids matching each other racially and were supportive of the decision to select African American embryos,” Aaron writes.

After six weeks, it was time to visit the doctor, who lived in Honduras, to receive their tiny embryos. And when they arrived, the couple was met with a completely different surprise.

“We began to describe everything to our doctor in Spanish (broken Spanish, that is). He asked us a few times if we were sure that we had transferred two embryos. Yes, of course we were sure, we said.”

The couple then discovered to their shock that one of those embryos had split in two inside Rachel’s womb. She was indeed pregnant—not only with twins, but triplets!

“I felt sheer delight during this pregnancy watching my son and daughter, with his dark brown skin and her with the ringlet hair and slightly tan skin, kiss my white wife’s growing belly. Each evening they said good night to those three growing little girls in her belly, and now they get to finally say sweet dreams to their baby sisters—face-to-adorable-face.”

Aren’t they just adorable?

Aaron beautifully describes his family:

I can remember a friend going through the adoption process telling me he had always wanted his family to look like a little United Nations. As I look at my growing family, I prefer to take it a step further, daring to hope that our family picture is a little hint of Heaven.”

Little Girl Innocently Plays With Pool Noodle, Mother Sends Urgent Warning To All Parents

Lacey Grace was enjoying pool time with her four-year-old daughter Elianna when a seemingly insignificant event happened. Elianna and a friend were playing with a pool noodle when and a gush of pool water was accidentally blown down her throat.

Elianna immediately threw up the pool water and went back to playing. According to Lacey, the rest of the day was totally normal. At first, Lacey thought it was just kids being kids — no real harm was done.

But, in the back of her mind, Lacey remembered a story she read about the incredibly dangerous result of inhaling pool water…

Facebook/Lacey Grace

In a viral Facebook post, Lacey detailed what happened the day of the pool noodle as well as the events that unfolded in the days after.

She wrote:
“Elianna was playing in the pool with a ‘pool noodle’ on Saturday, and as many many children do every day, she was blowing in one end and blowing water out the other. By 100% freak accident, Elianna put her mouth to blow out at the same time someone blew in the other end, causing the water to shoot directly down her throat. She threw up immediately but didn’t really have any other notable things happen.

30 minutes after the ‘accident’ she was totally fine – normal, playing, eating, etc. The next day, even, she was fine.

Come Monday she developed a fever. Kids get fevers, this is normal. I didn’t think much. Tuesday she slept most of the day but still overall looked fine. Sent her to school Wednesday and got a call in the afternoon that her fever was back.

I kept replaying that pool scene in my head and remembered reading a story last year about a Dad in Texas whose son passed away because he went untreated after inhaling a bunch of pool water. I wasn’t going to let that be Elianna…”

Facebook/Lacey Grace

“We went from school to the urgent care, hoping the doctor would say ‘her lungs sound great, it’s just viral, etc….’ We were there about 10 minutes when the doctor said to get her to the nearest ER as soon as possible. Her heart rate was crazy high, her oxygen was low, and her skin was turning purple which suggested chemical infection.

Went to the nearest ER where they did a chest X-ray and showed inflammation and infection caused from pool chemicals.

Two hours later they transferred her by ambulance to an even larger hospital so they could monitor her around the clock and have pediatric specialists keep an eye on her.

She began treatment in the ambulance on the way over.

LONG STORY SHORT, Elianna has aspiration pneumonia and is now on oxygen and relying on it to breathe. They’ve tried to remove the tubes and give her a chance to breathe on her own but her levels drop quickly. She’s had her second dose of antibiotic but we haven’t seen much relief yet. Her fevers have continued. Her heart rate has lowered so that is the only good news so far. At least two doctors now have told us ‘thank God you got her here when you did.’

All the major things going wrong are things you would NEVER notice by looking at her.

If your child inhales a bunch of water, and something seems off AT ALL, I encourage you to immediately get help. I wonder if I would have taken her Monday, would she be better off?? And I wonder if I waited longer what would have happened. It’s so scary.

For now, we just pray that the antibiotic takes quickly and her lungs can find a way to get rid of the pool chemicals. They will keep us until she’s fever free for 24 hours, her chest X-ray comes back clear, and she can sleep fully through the night without her oxygen levels dropping so drastically.

If she requires more than 3 liters of oxygen we will be transferred to Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. We don’t know how long the road will be but I thank my lucky stars that I read that article of the little boy.

I will find that article and write that Dad a letter, I promise you. I would have never taken her to the urgent care without that and God only knows how this would have ended.”

Thankfully, Lacey read the story of Frankie Delgado, the four-year-old from Texas who passed away from inhaling pool water. Now she hopes Elianna’s frightening experience will serve as the same type of warning for other parents.

With a little awareness, Lacey feels confident she can prevent other children from passing due to inhaling harsh pool chemicals.

Facebook/Lacey Grace

In the days since posting her daughter’s harrowing story online, it’s been liked more than 35,000 times and shared by 91,000 users. Additionally, the family received nearly $6,000 for medical costs through their GoFundMe page.

It’s clear people from all over the world care about Elianna’s well-being!

Foster Dad Who Refused To Euthanize This Puppy Heartbroken After What The Vet Tells Him

Nubby, a puppy, was born without front legs. The veterinarian thought it would be best to put Nubby to sleep. Nubby’s mom hadn’t rejected him, but he wasn’t able to compete or keep up with the other puppies had trouble getting to his mom to nurse.

Airline passenger yells at check-in woman – then her 6-word response instantly knocks him down to size

“The customer is always right” is a classic service industry mantra that surely has its place, but there are a definitely some people out there are the exception to the rule.

Everyone who’s worked in a service job knows what I mean — those people who think they’re better than everyone else, demand to be treated like royalty and treat customer service people like dirt.

This story about a woman working at the check-in counter for an airline is fictional, but it shows a clever way to deal with rude customers. Her response to an extremely disrespectful passenger really put him in his place, and it also made me laugh out loud.

Scroll down to read the story and don’t hesitate to share it if you also thought the woman’s response was absolutely brilliant!

The woman at the check-in desk at LaGuardia Airport in New York should get an award for how she dealt with this obnoxious customer! For all of you out there who have had to deal with an irate customer, this one is for you.

A crowded Southwest Airlines flight was canceled due to unsafe weather. A single agent was re-booking a long line of inconvenienced travelers.

Suddenly, an angry passenger pushed his way to the head of the line. He slapped his ticket on the counter and said, “I HAVE to be on this flight and it has to be FIRST CLASS.”

The agent replied, “I’m sorry, sir. I’ll be happy to try to help you, but I’ve got to help these folks first; and then I’m sure we’ll be able to work something out.”

The passenger was unimpressed.

He asked loudly so that the passengers behind him could hear, “DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHO I AM?”

Without hesitating, the agent smiled and grabbed her public address microphone.

“May I have your attention, please?” she began. (Her voice heard clearly throughout the terminal), “We have a passenger here at Gate 14 WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHO HE IS. If anyone can help him with his identity, please come to Gate 14.”

With the folks behind him in line laughing hysterically, the man glared at the Southwest Airlines agent, gritted his teeth, and said, “Screw you!”

Without flinching, she smiled and said, “I’m sorry, sir. You’ll have to get in line for that, too.”

Don’t forget to share if you this story also put a smile on your face!

6-year-old boy goes missing: When rescuers find him, they notice what’s lying beside him

Realising one of your children is missing must be one of the most terrifying things in the world.

As a parent, your first instincts are to love and protect your child at all costs, so when they’re gone and you can’t do anything to remedy the situation it’s not long before the panic sets in.

This is exactly what the parents of six-year-old Kaydon Leach experienced when their boy went missing on the evening of April 23 with his dog, Chula.

Authorities began a search at 7pm that would involve 100 people and stretch well through the night and into Tuesday. When they found Kaydon, he wasn’t alone …

Kaydon Leach disappeared in Blount County, Tennessee on the evening of April 23. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation soon issued an Endangered Child Alert, with rescue teams conducting grid searches through a 2,000-acre area over the night.

Given that Kaydon is just six-years-old, fears for his safety were paramount. The large-scale operation to find him included the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, K-9 teams, Blount County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, a Black Hawk military helicopter and volunteer search parties from the local area.

This is Kaydon Leach and his dog ChulaThey have been missing since around 6:30pm yesterday in the Top of The World…

After 22 hours, Kaydon was found about a half mile away from his home in the Top of the World Community in Blount County at 3:30pm local time on April 24.

Despite the fantastic efforts of the many involved in the search to find him, however, it’s not the police, fire department or volunteers who are being recognised as the true heroes of the tale. Instead, it’s the black and white terrier Kaydon had with him; Chula.

With Kaydon missing for an entire night in the rain, Chula guarded his master and kept him safe until others could reach him.

According to Blount County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jeff French: “The dog actually growled at the rescuers when they approached Kaydon.”

In the dark and the rain, in the bleakness of the night, Chula stayed by his master’s side. What a good boy he is!

This is the dog that was guarding 6-year-old Kaydon Leach when a search crew found them this afternoon.

The boy & his dog were missing overnight in the rain for 22 hours.

Kaydon was cold when he was found, with rescuers wrapping him in jackets and carrying him up the mountain to the road. He was later taken to Blount Memorial Hospital. In a statement his family expressed their gratitude for all those who took part in the search.

“We’re so thankful to everyone, from local law enforcement agencies to volunteers, who helped us find Kaydon. The amount of support we have received has been tremendous, even from people we don’t even know. We appreciate all our friends and neighbors, and ask for privacy at this time.”

I’m so happy that story had a good ending. It’s true what they say about dogs; they really are man’s best friend.

Michael J. Fox’s son is all grown up – he looks the spitting image of his father

I can’t tell you exactly why, but I have a weird fascination with spotting the similarities between people from the same family.

It’s especially true when it comes to sons/daughters and their parents – I can genuinely entertain myself by trying to workout which parent a child resembles more.

Yes, it’s probably true that I lead a very boring life, but it makes it all the more fun when I get to see celebrities’ babies grow up and begin to look like their mom or dad. More so, in fact, when I remember when that baby was born, as is the case with Sam Michael Fox.

The 28-year-old is, of course, the son of ’80s icon Michael J. Fox. He’s all grown up now and, well, from recent pictures, he’s going to have a hard time if he ever wants to deny his heritage…

If you were around in the ’80s, you’ll be familiar with Michael J. Fox. The 56-year-old became a hit after appearing on the big screen in things like ‘Teen Wolf’, ‘Family Ties’, and, of course, his most famous role as Marty McFly in the ‘Back to the Future’ franchise.

The ’80s may be but a distant memory, but Fox remains a household name. He continues to make appearances on TV and in film – this despite the fact he’s been battling Parkinson’s disease since 1991, when he was diagnosed at the age of 29.

On top of that, he’s found the time to raise four children. There’s Sam, 28, twins Schuyler and Aquinnah, 23, and Esme, 16.

And, whilst we’re sure he’s equally proud of all of them, there can be no denying who carries the most likeness to himself. With Fox having largely kept his children out of the spotlight, glimpses of them have been few and far between.

That’s why it’s a relative shock to see that he has his own doppelgänger in Sam, who lives a quiet life working in sales for a startup firm.

With Michael J. Fox not having outwardly aged all that much, it’s not too difficult to see why the pair are so similar. There’s worse people to look like, I’m sure!

It's us and the puppy we're not getting!

Cruel Man Chains Dog To A Car And Drags Him By The Neck

Animal cruelty is sadly especially prominent within modern society – both dog and cat owners alike abuse their own pets, can you imagine? One example is a dog owner in China, who drags his own dog via a long metal chain tied to his truck! Mind you – the truck was DRIVEN by him while his dog tries its best to keep up with the vehicle’s speed.

Eventually, this act quickly wore the dog out, and it failed to stand on all fours. It ended up getting dragged by the sheer force of the truck along the roads! This spectacle horrified many onlookers, who tried to get the dog owner to stop his vehicle.

Unfortunately, the dog was lifeless – it was too late for the poor pooch.

The cruel owner however, was not charged or brought into custody since there are a lack of animal protection laws in China. The world is so unfair to animals!

Down syndrome girl unaware she’s being teased – players stop basketball game to teach bullies a lesson

If there’s one thing that boils my blood more than anything else, it’s bullying.

Unfortunately, it’s been an endemic problem in society since humans were… well, humans. A part of growing up is understanding that everyone deserves to be treated with equal respect and kindness. Differences aren’t to be mocked, they’re to be celebrated.

Sadly, not everyone learns at the same pace. Hell, some people don’t ever learn. It’s these types of people who need to be stood up to on a regular basis, which is why I find the events that unfolded at Lincoln Middle School all the more worthy of tribute.

Scooter Terrien, Chase Vasquez and Miles Rodriguez might look like your average teenagers, but when they stepped in to prevent a group of bullies heckling a cheerleader who has Down syndrome, they showed they were made of special stuff…

YouTube
Desiree Andrews is a cheerleader at Lincoln Middle School. As such, her duties included cheering on the sports teams whenever they take the field. Sure, words might sometimes fail her, but she’s not afraid to let her dancing and music do the talking.

It just so happens that Desiree is a friend of Scooter, Chase and Miles, and they’ll do anything to protect her from bullies. That’s why when they saw bullies heckling Desiree during a time out, they developed a game plan that was both smart and powerful.

“We looked at for a while, to see if we were seeing it correctly,” Scooter said.

YouTube
When they realised the truth was precisely what they assumed, the boys knew they had to act. They left the bench during the time out and approached the bullies.

With the whole school watching, they took a stand for Desiree when she needed it most.

YouTube
The bullies were quickly taught a lesson. It might have been a small gesture, but it was enough to have a lasting effect on both Desiree and her father, who couldn’t have been more thankful.

Fighting back the tears, Desiree’s dad said: “I just wanted to let them know, as a father how much I appreciated it.”

Meanwhile, the boys’ fathers are bursting with pride. When you raise a son you want him to be just and courageous in the face of adversity; to exemplify the honorable virtues you’ve hopefully installed in him. When your own dad says you’re a hero, you know you’re onto a winner!

Watch the video below for the news report:

It’s great to see young people standing up to all forms of bullying, and we’re so happy to see Desiree continue doing what she loves to do.

Share this story to pay tribute to the guys who helped Desiree, and to show that you support anti-bullying!
