The first lady has decided to go gracefully in her own home and not within the confines and restraints that come with taking your last breath inside a hospital’s walls.
The former president’s office released a statement confirming the news of her recent hospitalizations. It also went on to shed a little light on what was going on with the first lady behind closed doors.
“Following a recent series of hospitalizations, and after consulting her family and doctors, Mrs Bush, now age 92, has decided not to seek additional medical treatment and will instead focus on comfort care,” the statement said.
The statement went on to touch on just how strong she has been despite looking into the face of death.
“It will not surprise those who know her that Barbara Bush has been a rock in the face of her failing health, worrying not for herself — thanks to her abiding faith — but for others.’
Fans and admirers of the Bush family know it won’t be long until she takes her last breath.
However, you can rest easy knowing that she is surrounded by a family that she adores.
Barbara Bush also expressed that she was appreciative of the many kind messages and prayers she has received since making the difficult decision.
